a set of New Dunlop Tires given away at each Autocross event!
Autocross Recap
School and Autocross #1 - April 13th, 2008
By Dave Thoman

On April 13th we held the first PCA Autocross of 2008, which was also the first at our new venue Six Flags White Water, in Marietta. Like the saying goes, Location, Location, Location - with an excellent turnout of 84 participants, and Mother Nature providing a beautiful day for spirited competition.

Sunday began with our Autocross school where we had 30 new/novice drivers participating in 4 driving exercises designed to hone in their skills and apply what they were taught from their classroom session given the day before. Apparently our excellent instructors did their job with many of our students ended up placing in their respective classes in the Autocross held later that afternoon.

Many of the 84 participants to the Autocross were the usual attendees, however with the new location some old regulars came out of hibernation to compete, and won their class; Bob Clark, Gus Frankie, and Mike Hopper just to name a few. But leave it to the untouchable Terry Sullivan to lay down an FTD (Fastest Time of the Day) of 57.627sec. to set the benchmark, only to be slightly threatened by yours truly. (Still a second behind).

Congratulations to all of our class winners, and especially our novices who walked away with a trophy and a plastered smile on their face.

Please be sure to join us May 4th for our next event where we will once again be giving away a set of Dunlop Tires.
