The Spring Rally - May 31, 2009

What a grand day we had for the first Rally of this year. Sunday May 31 was wonderfully sunny and warm. We could not have scripted a better weather day. A big thanks to the 12 Rally cars that came out to participate in this event.

Also a big thanks to the Rally workers, Debbie Sullivan, Tommy & Boothie Thomas and Barbara Gellner at CP#1, Jack & Kathy Baker, Tom Albee, Lori Hagle and John Crowell at CP#2 & #3, Danny Saxton & Tommy Thomas at CP#4. Kathy Baker, Barbara Gellner & Keith Bullinger handled registration, Brian King teched the Rally cars and Lisa King took many photos.

Special thanks, to the Kings' for providing their beautiful home as the Rally start and to Dick & Carole Kjellsen for hosting the End-of-Rally Party and BBQ feast. All seemed to enjoy the Rally and the Party.

This was really a near perfect Rally day and many did so with their top down, enjoying the sun.

The 12 Rally cars provided a reasonable turnout, with 24 contestants for this event and the 14 workers made a good party crowd of 38 plus. Since we would like to have 20 to 25 cars at our Rally events, we are asking for comments and suggestions on how to increase the turnout for Peachstate Rallies. The amount of work required to put on a Rally and to work the checkpoints and handle the other tasks, is the same for the 12 that did participate and the 24 we would like to have had. So please, what can we do to increase the turnout?
