Autocross School
April 4 and 5, 2009 - We will hold our annual AutoX School on the
mornings of Sat, April 4 and Sun, April 5. Saturday's classroom session will be
hosted by Kerry Singley's shop (Premier Service Center / NAPA Auto Care) at 224
N. Main Street in Alpharetta (770-663-3939). Kerry is a long time active club
member, PCA racer, business owner specializing in Porsches, and Peachstate
Presse advertiser.
On Sunday, April 5 we will complete the AutoX School with a morning practice in
your own car at the Lakewood Amphitheatre parking lot. There will be four
different stations where you'll be able to get a feel for your car and practice
techniques we discussed on Saturday. Then we suggest you stay to participate in
the first autocross of the season, AutoX #1. Bring a helmet or use one of the
club helmets we'll have at the event.
More details and registration information in the link to
Autocross School, but please read the rest of this
section first.

As introduced during last season, we will continue registering for autocrosses
on www.ClubRegistration.net. This includes on-line prepayment which drastically
improves check in time. Registration opens about 2 weeks prior to each event.
New Class Structure
For 2009, we are aligning AutoX classes with the classes described in the
Official PCA Parade Competition Rules (PCRs), Section A-9.2, Suggested
Non-Parade Zone/Region Classing for Medium Sized Regions. The result will be
fewer classes with more competitors in each class. The intent is to make it more
fun.
Virtually all Peachstate AutoX participants will be affected, so please look
through this table to find the correct new class for your car. (Note the
change in nomenclature; class numbers have been replaced with letters to avoid
confusion with old classes). We continue to have "Ladies" classes and "Mens"
classes which will be indicated with an "L" or "M" suffix.
