Everyone had such a good time on last year's DE Tour that we are repeating it this year, but with new driving routes to and from the track.
Have you ever wondered exactly what happens at a High Performance Drivers Education (HPDE), and what is involved? Well now is your chance to find out. We will meet at the Starbucks located at 435 Peachtree Pkwy, Suite 400, Cumming GA 30041 at 8:00 for registration. Following a short participants meeting we will form into groups for the drive to Road Atlanta. There we will watch HPDE participants on the track. You can see for yourself what types of vehicles are being driven by your fellow PCA members. Then we will have a presentation from the track committee on what you could expect if you participate in an HPDE. You will have questions answered about cost, technical requirements, activities, how your car might be affected, and more.
Then you will have a chance to take parade laps on the track. Believe me the perspective is different than watching from the infield. Cost for the parade laps is $20 per car, and you will need correct change in cash to participate. You will not need a helmet or special clothing to participate and the money collected goes 100% to one of the Peachstate PCA designated charities.
Following the parade laps we will again group up and drive to Dahlonega for lunch at the famous Smith House. I guarantee you won't go away hungry.
Following lunch you will have the opportunity to drive some of north Georgia's wonderful twisty mountain roads ending in Cleveland. From there you will be on your own to go home.
Registration cost for the tour is $11.50 for club members and $16.50 for non-members plus $25 per person for lunch including taxes and gratuities. Registration is now open at clubregistration.net, and will remain open until midnight Sunday June 3. I have to let the restaurant know our final count in advance, so no refunds will be available after registration closes.
Please insure that your e-mail is setup to allow e-mails from clubregistration.net to get to you and not go into your junk/spam folder as additional details will be e-mailed ahead of the event.
