Sunday, May 1st was a spectacular beginning for the most Springlike month but rather than gathering around the Maypole the Porsche faithful preferred to gather together for the first Concours event of the year at Miller's Ale House.

The turnout was heavy; in addition to the 23 members who registered to compete there was a constant stream of both members and the public at large dropping by to view the event. Amongst vehicles that were noted but not competing were two 356 Speedsters, a 914-6, a GT3, several 996/997s, and the Ferrari of our President, Bill Ibsen ( the code word is Camaro!). We even had a Concours judge from Zone 8 in California participate by observing how Peachstaters conduct an event. Interest and exchange of ideas seemed to be at a heightened pitch perhaps due to Porsche Parade being so close to us this year and many participants planning to compete at that venue. Judging was conducted by our experienced group of volunteers and then results were presented.

There were a few surprises, especially in People's Choice with the well prepared Guards Red 1987 911 Carrera of John Cattarula edging out Bob Kuchenbecker's 1958 356 coupe by a single vote. Another first for this Chair was a tie in Division VIII Full Boxster/Cayman. The tie breaker awards first to the highest Exterior score so congratulations to Mark Sellers for his win. Hennessy Porsche kindly provided door prizes of gift certificate's that were awarded to 3 lucky attendees.
