Concours #4 - Jim Ellis Porsche
Sunday October 10, 2010
Our fourth and final event of 2010 was held on Sunday, 10 October at
Jim
Ellis Porsche. Nature cooperated in providing a gorgeous
day to view our favorite mark under clear and sunny skies. Lenny
Deutsch made sure that the red carpet was rolled out at the dealership
by providing their parking deck to stage the autos while also having
the dealership open to view new inventory ( I personally picked
out the Turbo S cabriolet! ). Grilled franks, sandwichs, and all
the fixings were also provided as the vehicles were staged and prepped
prior to the onset of judging. Twenty-one competitors faced the
judges, and as always everyone was treated to a spectacular display of
Porsche's finest. This was demonstrated in the most obvious way
in that 18 of the 21 autos received People's Choice votes, by far the
largest proportion of vehicles of any event held this year. Everyone
had a favorite! The votes were then tallied and awards
presented.
My Co-chair Tom Roy and I want to thank everyone who assisted us in
helping to stage our events this year, and also thanks to those who
participated in as well as attended the events. Your
participation and continued support is vital to our continuing
success! We especially wish to thank Lenny Deutsch and
Jim Ellis Porsche and their management for hosting our event.
As a reminder,
Porsche Parade will
be in Savannah next year and it is our goal to encourage Peachstate to
have a maximum participation in the Concours event. It will be an
opportunity to be part of a national event and even perhaps come home
with an award as at Parade anything is possible. More details to
follow.
